This is where Midjourney immediately proved its value for us. We generated header images for our reviews, social media thumbnails and concept illustrations. The quality was consistently impressive — professional enough to use directly without any editing. Images that would cost €30-50 from a stock photo site or designer were generated in 30 seconds.

2. Photorealistic Images

V6's photorealism is extraordinary. We generated product mockups, lifestyle photography and architectural visualisations. In blind tests, several of our photorealistic images were mistaken for actual photographs. This is a huge improvement over V5.

3. Artistic & Illustrative Styles

Midjourney's real strength is artistic versatility. We created images in dozens of styles — oil painting, watercolour, anime, minimalist illustration, vintage poster and more. No competitor comes close to Midjourney's range of artistic styles and the quality within each style.

4. Text in Images

This is still Midjourney's weakest area. While V6 improved significantly, generating images with accurate text — logos, signs, labels — remains unreliable. For images requiring precise text, we still needed to add it manually in a design tool. DALL-E 3 is better at this specific task.

When we needed multiple images in the same style — for example, a series of blog thumbnails — Midjourney maintained excellent consistency across variations. This is crucial for building a recognisable visual brand.

The Discord interface is the main barrier for new users. It feels unusual at first but becomes natural within a few hours of use. Midjourney has also been slowly rolling out a web interface which is much more beginner-friendly.

If you want the best possible image quality and artistic range, Midjourney is still the clear leader in 2026. No competitor has matched it for pure visual quality.
